At The Ọmọladé Academy, we believe that a strong partnership between The Ọmọladé Academy and families is essential for the success of our scholars.

We have developed The Ọmọladé Academy Family Engagement Agreement to foster this partnership. This agreement outlines our Academy's and families' responsibilities and commitments to ensure a supportive and collaborative educational environment.

Purpose

The Ọmọladé Academy Family Engagement Agreement is designed to:

  • Clearly define the expectations for scholars, families, and the school.
  • Promote a shared commitment to the achievement of all our students, using an African-centered approach, considered by some as holistic. We are committed to our scholars' academic, intellectual, cognitive, physical, social-emotional, and mental development and growth. 
  • Foster open communication and mutual respect between the school and families.
  • Encourage active family engagement and involvement in the educational process.

Expectations for Scholars

  • Attend school regularly and arrive on time.
  • Complete all Sankofa Love activities to the best of their ability.
  • Follow The Ọmọladé Academy's expectations and behavior.
  • Participate actively in class, school, and community activities.
  • Communicate any challenges or needs to teachers and family members.

Expectations for Families

  • Ensure that scholars attend school regularly and on time.
  • Provide a quiet and supportive environment for SankofaLove and study.
  • Communicate regularly with teachers and school staff about scholars' progress.
  • Attend family engagement meetings and school events.
  • Encourage and support scholars' participation in school and community-related activities.

Expectations for The Ọmọladé Academy

  • Provide a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Deliver high-quality instruction that meets the needs of all scholars.
  • Communicate regularly with families about scholars' progress and school events.
  • Offer opportunities for family involvement and engagement.
  • Support scholars' academic and social-emotional development.
